Smaller shops can be surprisingly friendly if they care about repeat customers. I think this is one of the few real advantages we have compared to shopping blindly. This is why I like reading and posting on forums and community websites. I try to look for real photos of the insoles and soles, not only the outside of the shoe.

If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

Sometimes I still make mistakes with size, so a friendly exchange policy is very helpful. If the first order goes well, I slowly try more products from the same place. It saves a lot of trial and error for everyone else. I also think about how easy it is to track a parcel once it ships. Shipping speed is not everything, but extremely slow delivery is very annoying. Each material has advantages and disadvantages depending on season and activity. Sometimes I even measure an existing frame with a ruler before ordering anything new.

Maybe this is useful for someone.
