Welcome!

Hello! My name is Kit Soulcraft, and I wanted to welcome you to The Initiate’s Path and introduce myself so you have some history to the program, and my goals for both the TIP and for you.

Congratulations on starting The Initiate’s Path (TIP)!! I hope you find it interesting, engaging, or at least not tedious. We are expanding this as we go, so you’ll find new lessons popping up when I have time to work them. We will also be expanding to include things like video/audio recordings of the lessons to accommodate folks who learn better that way. My first goal is to make this accessible to everyone.

You can complete these lessons in any order you’d like, however we do have them set up in an order of importance and sense. But either way, I highly recommend you accomplish the lessons in the welcome track, and then the Foundation track, because these will set you up for success.

If you find that anything within these lessons to be incompatible with your needs, please let me know and I’ll either fix it, find you a web extension that’ll help, or we’ll work something out together.

This includes (but not limited to) physical, mental, and neurodivergent needs.

These lessons are designed to be done at your own pace. There is no rush to get them done. If you need time to process the lessons before you post, please do! The lessons will range from simple scavenger hunts, to explaining what you’ve read, to deep soul dives. All in all though, we’re not looking for parrots who repeat lessons back to us. We want to hear your thoughts, feelings, and understandings of what we present here.

You are welcome to skip the journal entries and just do this on your own. I want these lessons open to all, whether or not you’re in the Jedi Conclave, a different Jedi community, or a visitor who didn’t want to register for the site. If you would like to advance in rank though, we will need you to post your journal entries to our forums.

There is no time limit, and we will never set one. “Real” (physical) life will always take precedence. Time is usually folks’ most scarce resource and I do not intend for either of us to spend it frivolously.

About me: I am the Academics Lead! All these lessons were either wrtten by me, or have gone through me for approval.

You are more than welcome to skip ahead to the next lesson at this point! There are no lessons further on, more a history, but you might find some insight!

I won’t burden you with a long and dreary history of myself here, but if you’d like to read that, you can find it in the Introduction section of the forums when I get a moment to write it.

So here’s the cliff notes:
I had a very difficult childhood that lead to a lot of mental and physical health issues. I joined the US Air Force and spent 15 years in service before I was medically retired. That was also a very difficult time filled with many lessons and struggles. My time in the Jedi community has been both filled with wonderful people, and some rough lessons learned.

But all this brought me to where I am today. As I was struggling with my life and mourning what should have been, I wracked my brain to figure out what I could do with it all. So I decided I would write a book and share the things I’ve learned and lived. Here, you’re getting the things I have to teach filtered through the lens of the Jedi. Most of it is the same, just some rearranging and syntax. And although stories and myth are what make me, I also am a firm believer in making sure the lessons I teach here are applicable to our daily lives.

So a mighty “welcome” again! And if you have any questions you are welcome to come find me, or post in the forums and we’ll get you an answer.

May the Force be with you, in this endeavor, and the rest.
